<description>I have a 1970 Corvette which I&#039;ve owned since 1976. Generally I have not used a lead substitute additive and have never had a problem with knock/ping. The engine was rebuilt in &#039;78 at 100k but the heads were not. I did have the heads done at about 120K. The odometer is now at 160k and counting. I do now use STP lead substitute but there still has been no problem and it runs great.
