1984-1991 Corvette Replacement Power Brake Booster

November 21st, 2008

1984-1991 C4 Corvette power brake boosters were originally made of plastic, making them very delicate. They often cracked or even melted due to the extreme heat built up under normal operating conditions leaving you with minimal stopping power.

With the plastic material on the original boosters simply too fragile, a steel replacement for both modified and daily driver Corvettes is recommended once it goes bad. Zip Corvette carries an excellent replacement booster for your C4. This steel replacement power brake booster is not “original style” but will perform and last much longer than the stock booster. There are no modifications necessary to install the replacement as it will fit just as your original power brake booster fit from the factory.

Restore your stopping confidence today by replacing your C4 Corvette’s plastic brake booster with a new steel unit from Zip.

Has anybody given a review on this Corvette Power Brake Booster? Both my master cylinder and power brake booster are leaking and need to be replaced. The metal one is much cheaper than the original which is always nice when you talk Corvette. Is there anything else I need to purchase to replace this in my 1985 Corvette?

    Steve,
I do not know of any reviews but I can say that this steel power brake booster would make a great replacement for your leaking booster. The original booster is made of plastic that will crack very easily and sometimes melt if exposed to enough heat. If you are planning on showing your Corvette the original style booster may be the way to go because of the originality. If you want a quality part that will last and install easily without any modifications, save some money and go with the steel replacement.
