A couple things to consider when upgrading your Corvettes points to HEI are that you must remove your Corvette’s ignition shielding due to the distributor cap size and our Corvette HEI Coil Pigtail is a must have to complete installation. To install the new HEI distributor you must remove the ballast resistor (on equipped Corvettes) or white cloth covered wire which drops voltage to your original points style distributor. Voltage for HEI distributors should be 13.7 volts (approximately, when vehicle is running) to operate at peak efficiency. This HEI tachometer drive distributor will work on all 1962-1974 Corvettes except 340 horsepower applications.

ZR1 Corvette Clutch Assembly For 2005-2010 C6

If you are adding a significant amount of horsepower to your C6 Corvette then our new C6 ZR1 Corvette Clutch Assembly should be your next investment. The stock clutch used on 2005-2010 C6 Corvettes works great and should not need replacing until you begin increasing the power that the already potent LS2, LS3 and LS7 Corvette engines produce. What GM and Sachs have done with the ZR1 is designed a factory clutch that is capable of handling over 800 horsepower while still offering the drivability expected of a new C6 Corvette. Originally only available for the C6 ZR1 Corvette, you can now install the best factory clutch ever to be in a Corvette with our ZR1 Corvette clutch assembly. Our clutch kit includes the OEM ZR1 pressure plate and disk, new throw out bearing and slave cylinder, new billet steel flywheel and the necessary flywheel and pressure plate mounting hardware.

“Can I use the ZR1 clutch in my base C6 or Z06?” Yes! We have made it possible to bolt the ZR1 clutch to any LS2, LS3 or LS7 Corvette. Our new Corvette Steel Flywheel for 2005-2010 includes six bolt holes as opposed to nine on the ZR1, which allows it to be bolted to the crankshaft on any C6 Corvette including the Z06. The steel flywheel, also sold separately, is made from billet steel by the original ZR1 flywheel manufacturer and has been tested in excess of 12,000 rpm. You should know that it is only compatible with the ZR1 Corvette Clutch Assembly.

Forgeline 3-Piece Wheels are made of 6061 T6 true forged centers sandwiched by 6061 T6 spun rim halves and assembled using aircraft-grade hardware. All wheels are built to order, so individual requests for special colors, optional fasteners, etc. are welcome and easily accommodated.

We offer two different styles of Forgeline wheels for C5 & C6 Corvettes. The first set consists of Forgeline Premier Series Corvette Wheels. A standout on the street – and the show circuit, our Forgeline premier wheels come standard with a fully polished outer lip and your choice of powder coated center wheel in Silver, Gloss Black, Matte Black, Gunmetal or Matte finish Titanium. The inner rim shell is available powder coated (see our Forgeline Options for more information) and grade 8 stainless steel piston head torx bolts are used throughout. For C5 Corvettes, the Forgeline premier series wheels are available in 18″x9.5″ and 19″x11″ or 19″x9.5″ and 20″x11″. The base C6 Wheel sizes include 19″x9.5″ and 20″x11″ while the Z06, ZR1, & Grand Sport sizes run 19″x10″ and 20″x12.5″.

Though every Forgeline wheel is built to meet the rigors of track use, the Forgeline Competition Series raises the bar just that much higher. The competition wheels are three pounds lighter than the Forgeline premier series wheels. They include a stepped lip that offers muscular looks and greater load capabilities. Each Forgeline competition wheel comes with a fully polished outer lip and powder coated center wheel in Silver, Gloss Black, Matte Black, Gunmetal or Matte finish Titanium. Each inner rim shell is available powder coated (see our Forgeline Options for more information). Forgeline Competition Series Corvette Wheels are available for C5 & C6 Corvettes. The C5 sizes include 18″x10″ front wheels and 18″x12″ rear wheels while the C6 includes 18″x10″ fronts and 18″x11″ rears for the non Z06, ZR1 or Grand Sport. If you are upgrading to the Z06, ZR1 or Grand Sport size wheels because you have upgraded your Corvettes Body Panels, or you are wheel shopping for your Z06, ZR1 or Grand Sport Corvette and you would like a wheel that is going to last, then we have Forgeline competition series wheels available in 19″x10″ and 20″x12.5″, which will be perfect for showing, racing, tracking, or autocrossing your Corvette.

A great advantage to buying Forgeline multi piece wheels is that in most situations they can be repaired at far less than the cost of a new wheel. Even so, all Forgeline wheels come with a 3 year limited warranty that will cover defects in material or workmanship. “Got the Pfadt transmission mount installed and did some testing. Wow! Does that product work great or what? Powertrain “rubberbanding” greatly decreased. Wheel hop virtually eliminated. The downside is a significant increase in noise and vibration between 2200 rpm and 3800 rpm.”

“In a race car, where its use would be allowed by rules, this part is highly advised. In a car that’s drag raced, it’s a virtual requirement. National Corvette Museum HPDE At VIR

On June 28th and 29th the National Corvette Museum will hold a 2-day high performance driver education event at Virginia International Raceway and Zip Corvette will be in attendance. We had such a great time last year meeting drivers and talking about different applications that we have decided to come back this year ready for action. We have rented two track side garages and plan to bring two mechanics that will be ready to tune, repair, adjust, or install parts at deeply discounted rates. Also coming along for the ride will be our black C6, which includes a number of both performance and body upgrades as well as our very own C6R.

At an H.P.D.E. event it is common to break parts on your Corvette because of the added strain put on the car. Though it will be impossible to bring the right parts for every driver in attendance we will have around 75 performance and track oriented Corvette Parts available for purchase by cash or credit card. Some of the parts included consist of performance brake pads and components, air intake systems, direct fit aluminum radiators, drivetrain and suspension parts, shifters, and a set of 2006-2010 Z06/ZR1 Corvette Forgeline ZX3S Alloy Wheels w/Michelin PS2 Tires. Any parts that are purchased from us during the event will be installed on the spot by our certified mechanics.

Come out to VIR at the end of this month and enjoy watching America’s favorite sports car in action. C6 Corvette DiabloSport Predator Programmer & Tuner

The C6 Corvette DiabloSport Predator Programmer is a state-of-the art, high performance tuning flash programmer in a sleek handheld design. Once connected to your C6, Z06, or Grand Sport Corvette, the Predators internal computer recognizes the PCM and automatically picks the proper tuning files designed specifically for that PCM. Inside the Predator’s memory are the actual tuning files that optimize spark timing and air/fuel ratio curves. Unlike other “tuners”, the DiabloSport Predator programming is performed in very small increments throughout the entire RPM range, for a smoother, wider and more predictable power delivery. DiabloSport engineers spend many hours on the dyno, street, and track to ensure the tunes provided with the Predator are the best they can possibly be for your Corvette.

Installing a DiabloSport tune on your Corvette using the Predator Programmer is simple and only takes a few minutes. You should know that the very first time the predator is used on your Corvette it will automatically create a backup of the original factory tune. If your Corvette has previously been tuned you should proceed with caution as serious engine damage can occur if the Predator tune is installed over a non-factory or aftermarket tune. We recommend having a Chevrolet dealer reflash your Corvettes ECU (Engine Control Unit) to its original settings so there will be no possibility of damage to your Corvette.

Before starting to install the tune be sure that your Corvette is parked and the engine is off. All doors must be closed and all electrical accessories must remain off. To install the tune, plug the Predator into the diagnostic port. The predator will recognize the vehicle and then give the options of performance tune, diagnostics, or options; select performance tune by pressing the continue key. After reading the disclaimer you can now turn the ignition on being sure not to start the vehicle. Next highlight the type of tune you would like to install and follow all prompts to turn the ignition on and off. While the tune is being written, be sure not to interrupt the process or ECM damage can occur. Once completed, you simply unplug the Predator and cycle the key to start your Corvette’s engine. The predator also contains several DiabloSport tunes that have been tested and approved by their engineers. You can install your choice tune as is or you may customize the tune to meet your wants and needs.

If you are planning on having your Corvette serviced it is recommended that you restore your Corvette back to the stock tune. This can be done at any time using the restore feature on the Predator. No need to worry if you have customized the tune as it will be saved for future use.
