Exhaust System Round Tips

The C5 Corvette Fusion Exhaust System is a bi-modal exhaust system, meaning it has two passages, or modes, that the exhaust can travel through the muffler. Each of the mufflers has two outlets, with one side having a butterfly type valve which allows the exhaust flow to be shut off, regulating which side of the muffler the flows exhaust. One side of the muffler is the “quiet” side, and one side is the “loud” side. The “quiet” side is a smaller, muffled and chambered tube, while the “loud” side is 3” straight through tube.

Exhaust System - Oval Tips

This system uses the basic design of the B&B “Bullet” system with a bi-modal muffler, butterfly, and vacuum valve, which provides the driver a choice in the overall sound level. The “loud” side of the muffler has an aggressive tone similar to the famous B&B Bullet Exhaust System. In the closed position, the tone would be slightly louder than the standard B&B Route 66 system.

The butterfly is controlled by a vacuum valve. Since the C5 Corvette has no factory option for the valve, B&B engineered a vacuum kit with a manual control. The kit comes complete with all the wiring, control switch, vacuum line, vacuum accumulators, and vacuum switch needed for installation. We have used the engine as the vacuum source and the installation is simple and straight forward.

Each part of the system will fit to a stock H-pipe. Billy Boat has combined the best of the Bullet exhaust with the best new technology to give you the Fusion System for your C5 Corvette. The muffler tips are double walled, 4″ round or 4.5″ oval. The mufflers and tips come completely polished and the result is a truly spectacular look combined with an aggressive sound that will have heads turning everywhere you go.

C5 & C6 Corvette LED Side Mirror Kit

Increase the safety of your C5 or C6 Corvette in a stylish manner with a new LED turn signal mirror kit from Zip Corvette. By adding this LED mirror kit to your Corvette’s side mirrors your Corvette will display a flashing chevron in the corresponding side mirror once the turn signal is activated, alerting drivers in your blind spot of your intentions. In addition to being used as an alert when making a lane change or turning; the LED mirror kit also functions when the vehicles emergency flashers are turned on. C5 & C6 Corvette Drop Spindles

The Corvette suspension has always been ahead of itself. However it did have its short falls from 1963-1996. In 1997 the new C5 Corvette Suspension was revised to get it a new upper A-Arm, which went along way with helping the Corvette against the competition. With the new body style and new suspension and a new LS1 engine, the Corvette was now the sports car that other manufactures were comparing themselves to instead of the other way around.

The design of the suspension geometry was proved over and over again on the race tracks from all over the world. The new C5’s were a threat no matter what series they showed up in. The racing miles that were being put on them were a great help in finding any weak spots in the factory suspension components. Two things that were notable, first when the car was lowered the suspension did not seem to work as well, and two when adding serious brakes the spindle support brake bolt bosses could be a weak point by shearing off.

While the latter of the two was an odd occurrence, it was something that you did not want to happen no matter how rare it was. LG Motorsports has developed a billet spindle that eliminates both issues just described. This drop spindle lowered the car by 1″ while still maintaining the factory suspension geometry. The brake boss is also larger and now stronger by just the use of the billet aluminum over the cast aluminum. If you have a race car, or you run HPDE events or have a big brake setup from AP, Stop Tech, or Performance Friction, then these C5 & C6 Corvette Heavy Duty Drop Spindles by LG Motorsports (available from Zip Corvette) are a must have Corvette part.

Corvette Shielded Spark Plug Wires

If you are tired of burnt spark plug wires due to your Corvette’s Headers? These Hi-Performance C5 & C6 Corvette Spark Plug Wires are built to Zip Corvette’s standards, which means they are built specifically for Corvettes and with the required heat protection for long tube headers.

Zip’s Corvette spark plug wire sets begin with a heat shielded Magnacor wire. Magnecor’s exclusive 2.5mm high capacity Metallic Inductance EMI Suppressed conductor consists of a stainless steel wire precisely wound at 200 turns per inch over a ferromagnetic core. The insulating jacket is made entirely of Magnecor’s exclusive TC-1500-HS high strength aerospace grade silicone rubber, and its single layer construction will prolong the jacket’s insulating ability by conducting extreme heat away from hot-spots that occur near over-the-limit heat sources.

The protection provided from the heat shield guarantees that this will be the last set of spark plug wires you will ever have to replace from header burn. The KV85 8.5mm jacket has a service heat resistance of 600 degrees F (320 degrees C) and up to 1,000 degrees F (540 degrees C) for a short burst of 3 minutes. The R-100 10mm jacket has a service heat resistance of 700 degrees F (380 degrees C) and up to 1,200 degrees F (650 degrees C) for a short burst of 3 minutes. Even if limits are exceeded, the silicone rubber will retain its insulating ability until wires are removed from engine.

Magnecor wires are primarily designed and constructed to be used in applications where it is essential to prevent the possibility of ignition wires compromising engine performance. Modern race engines, modified street engines and stock street engines which rely on electronic devices to control the function of either or both the Corvette ignition and fuel systems are prone to interference from all other spiral conductor ignition wires sold through performance parts outlets, none of which can provide proper suppression for EMI, particularly if a high-output ignition system is used.

Zip Corvette always recommends use of these performance spark plug wires on any stock or modified late model Corvette engine that is electronically managed however most other modified or street engines can also use our performance spark plug wires to improve ignition performance. Fits all 1997-2011 Corvettes with or without headers.

Both the red and blue sets of these Shielded Corvette Spark Plug Wires fit all C5 and C6 Corvettes. These wires are also a great ignition upgrade for your 2009-2011 C6 ZR1 Corvette.

Corvette GS Wheels

It never fails. When GM introduces a new wheel style on a Corvette, some Corvette owners want to upgrade their Corvette with the new style wheel, but with a different finish.

When GM gave us a stunning, new five-spoke wheel design on the Corvette Grand Sports for 2010, some of the base C5 and C6 owners liked the wheel style and some of the Grand Sport owners who already had the wheels, wanted them either chromed or black powder-coated.

Zip Products has the C6 Corvette Grand Sport Reproduction Wheels you need so you can update your C5 or C6 with dramatic, GS, five-spoke style. They are available in three configurations: 1) 18×8.5″ front and 19×10″ rear with proper offsets to fit any base model C6 without fender flares, 2) 18×8.5″ front and 19×12″ rear with proper offsets to fit C6 Z06 Corvettes and Grand Sports and 3) 17×8.5″ front and 18×9.5″ rear with proper offsets to fit 1997-2004 C5 Corvettes without the Z06 option.

Corvette Green Performance Air Filters

Green Performance Corvette Air Filters are excellent replacement air filters for Corvette owners who want to upgrade their air intake without changing the entire system. Unlike multi-layer gauze filters, which can fray and release fiber particles into your Corvette’s engine, Green performance air filters use two layers of tightly-interwoven cotton fabric. Because the fabric is so durable, Green air filters can be washed and reused over and over, which is why a lifetime guarantee comes with each filter.

Other Corvette air filters use a simple pressure molded injection process to bond the perimeter rubber to the interior components. That method saves manufacturing time, but in the process, a considerable amount of rubber can seep onto the filtering surface. This can restrict airflow as much as 25%. Green filters go through a precise four step production process that virtually eliminates all seepage and maintains maximum airflow through the filter. C5 Corvette Column Lock Kit

If your C5 Corvette’s steering column has locked in the past or you never want to experience a locked steering column, install one of our Column Lock Simulator By-Pass Kits for 1997-2004 C5 Corvettes. The by-pass kit will eliminate the problem with your steering column locking up due to a faulty anti-theft system. Included with the column lock simulator are detailed installation instructions and a required hex wrench to help complete installation. Wondering how the column lock simulator works? The simulator disables the factory locking mechanism, while allowing the Corvette’s computer to still believe everything is working problem free. All C5 Corvettes with a 6-speed manual transmission, and pre-2001 C5 Corvettes with an automatic transmission can use this device. 2001 and later Corvettes with automatic transmissions do not have a column lock to override.

1997-2004 C5 Corvette Column Lock By-Pass Kit installation Instructions:

1. Using a flat head screwdriver, pry in the center bottom of the fog lamp/trunk release panel and pry it out. Once it pops out, pull it out a couple of inches and disconnect the wiring harness going to it.
2. Inside the hole, you’ll see a T-15 torx headed screw. Remove that.
3. Next, pry off the panel on the other side of the steering wheel the exact same way. This houses the temperature sensor for some cars. Once it pops off, remove the T-15 torx screw from behind it. Continue reading the installation instructions here…
