Sometimes, it’s the small details that can really complete a Corvette. Missing Corvette Parts can be more than just an eye sore, they can be a driving distraction when those missing parts allow for a light beam to shine through the console. Previously unavailable, GM now offers a replacement C4 Corvette Power Seat Control Plastic Indicator.
1990-1991 Corvettes with power seats had a seat control switch that used a triangular indicator on the console. GM called this part a power seat adjuster switch plate insert while others called it a power seat control light cover, power seat triangle or indicator. Regardless of what you call it, when it’s missing – and this part often goes missing – it’s a major annoyance.
Replacement of this indicator is simple - it just snaps into place. And here’s a suggestion – when replacing one side, it’s always a good idea to replace the other side with our matching indicator because over time, fading and color variations may not leave you with a perfect match. Just another one of those small details that will give your Corvette a polished look. Order both at the same time. You’ll be glad you did.

75-76 Corvette Fuel Gauge
This original reproduction 1975-1976 Corvette Fuel Gauge includes the correct face dial, background color and aluminum pointer. The gauge face is attached with rivets as original from the factory in 1975 and 1976. This is a 100% GM licensed Corvette fuel gauge and will install using original or reproduction hardware. Installing this fuel gauge on your Corvette is the best solution if your current fuel gauge is missing, damaged, or not working properly. A loose or flimsy shifter console trim plate is one annoyance that every 1968-1976 C3 Corvette owner will likely encounter due to normal wear and tear. Think about how many times you rest your arm or lean on the shifter console to grab something out of the passenger seat. Well under the trim plate itself are small inward tapered tabs that the trim plate attaches to. Being made out of the same material as the console itself, as opposed to aluminum or another durable material, the tabs grow weak and break over time.
With a new trim plate repair kit from Zip you will get new aluminum tabs that hot glue to the console in each of its four corners, screws and U-nuts for the Corvette’s shifter plate.
In approximately 1-2 hours and a little over $30 you will be able to repair your Corvette’s lower shifter console housing by adding aluminum tabs that will far outlast the originals.
Original Corvette Radios carried an impedance load of 10 ohms and their factory equivalent speakers also carried this matching impedance. Most aftermarket radios carry a 4-ohm load, and therefore the majority of aftermarket speakers available also have a matching impedance of 4 ohms. If the radios and speakers are not “matched” in their impedance loads, not only will the radio sound pour, but damage can occur to both the speaker and the radio!

All 1958-1967 Corvettes used a 6×9 speaker in the center dash, while 1968-1969 Corvettes featured a 4×10 in the kick panel. The original 68-69 Corvette 4×10 speakers included a stamped bracket riveted to the speaker for mounting, this bracket will need to be reused to complete installation of a new speaker. 1970-1976 Corvette speakers are 4×6 and are originally held in place with an aluminum retainer which can be reused.
With improved bass and treble response and the ability to achieve higher volume levels than your original speaker, Zip Corvette’s reproduction speakers will make your original Corvette radio sound better than new.
Don’t you hate it when you sit in a really nice 1984-1989 C4 Corvette and place your hands onto the steering wheel only to find that it is dirty or worn out? Or better yet it has one of those cheap steering wheel covers on it from one of those local “auto parts” stores. You know… the one we get our wax from! The fact is, your Corvette’s steering wheel suffers from the harsh effects of UV sunlight and while it may have been supple leather in its glory days, now it seems there is more black leather on the floor than the top of your wheel. Installation of a new C4 steering wheel from Zip is easy, just slip off your Corvette’s horn button, horn contact and telescopic pawl and you will have direct access to the 13/16” nut holding the steering wheel in place. Use of a steering wheel puller will aid removal and keep you from damaging your Corvette’s steering shaft. Reassemble in reverse order; torquing the steering wheel nut to 45lbs. Once reinstalled your early C4 Corvette is like new again.
Oh, by the way if you own a 1984 or 1985 Corvette and have the “slim” design steering wheel, this is a perfect time to upgrade to the “fat” 1986-1989 design. When installing on a 1984-1985 Corvette, the Horn Button & Horn Contact must be updated as well. This will look great and be a nice addition to the interior of your Corvette.
