Corvette CV Joint Boots
Though they may not seem like much your C5 or C6 Corvette’s Inner & Outer CV Joint Boots play a key role in keeping your Corvette on the road. They are prone to cracking or splitting, which can have multiple negative effects on the drive-ability of your Corvette. Besides allowing contamination into the CV joint itself and causing premature wear of the bearings, cracked CV joint boots allow grease to be slung out of the boot, which can saturate your Corvette’s Brakes. This would not only cause an increase in braking distances but can also ruin your Corvette’s brake pads and rear rotors. If you have replaced your Corvette’s rear brake components or upgraded to performance brake pads & rotors, you know that brake rotor and pad replacements can get very expensive.
Until now the only sure way to avoid damage from bad CV joint boots was to replace the expensive CV axle shaft, which comes with new inner and outer CV joint boots. With the recent addition of our C5 & C6 Corvette Inner & Outer CV Joint Boot Kits you can now replace your Corvette’s CV joint boots without spending hundreds of dollars for the entire axle shaft. We have inner and outer CV joint boots for all C5, C6, Z06, Z51, Grand Sport, & ZR1 Corvettes. Each kit includes one inner or outer boot, clamps, & the correct amount of grease to replace a single boot.

Virginia International Raceway was packed with Corvettes from all over this past Monday and Tuesday. Dominated by the amazing Z06, there were also plenty of other awesome performers including the new 2010 Grandsport Corvette. The 2 day event consisted of driving classes and open track time for any Corvette owner. If you missed the 2009 Corvette Museum HPDE at VIR you truly missed two great days of performance driving.
Our new 2-piece Corvette rotors were on Steve Landstra’s Corvette for an on-track test. Check out the video below for a lap around VIR with the rotors installed. With speeds approaching 170 mph, Steve really pushed the brakes to the limit and proved that they performed excellent and stood up to heavy track duty. You can buy the same exact rotors for your Corvette in our online store.
The two day event at VIR gave Zip the opportunity to get out to the track meet more of our customers that enjoy the racing side of the Corvette world. While in attendance Zip Corvette was able to answer questions, discuss new Corvette Parts in the making, and meet a bunch of Corvette drivers and enthusiasts alike. Among the most popular topics discussed included our newly finished Mamba Air Intake System and our 2-piece Corvette Rotors. With the combination of high speeds and sharp corners at VIR, every Corvette Brake System will be pushed to the maximum. Zip stocks many of the necessary braking components required for an event like this such as their 2-Piece Performance Corvette Rotors, CarboTech and Hawk Brake Pads, Stainless Steel Brake Hoses, and more. Get your Corvette prepared for the track with Zip!
We are in the process of building a new discount program that targets Corvette drivers involved with open track events. The program is still in the works but should become effective soon. Some of the components that will be discounted include:

As with most vehicles, stock Corvette Brake Pads can only handle a certain amount of overall performance. Once you start upgrading your Corvette or if you have the already powerful Z06, chances are your brake system has plenty of room for improvement. One of the quickest ways to step up your Corvette’s braking abilities is to add performance brake pads from Carbotech. Unlike conventional brake systems that use carbon and iron, Carbotech uses ceramic and metallic compounds, which are much more “rotor friendly”.
Zip Corvette carries Carbotech Brake Pads for every C4, C5, & C6 Corvette including the Z06. With many different brake pad compounds available for both street and track use, be sure you are getting the right brake pads for your Corvette. Here are the popular Carbotech Corvette Brake Pad compounds available from Zip Corvette Parts:

XP8 Corvette Brake Pads
The XP8 is a high torque brake compound with a wide operating temperature range (200F-1350F). Carbotech XP8 is the first of their racing compounds. The compound has outstanding initial bite at race temperatures, a high coefficient of friction, and excellent modulation and release characteristics. It has extremely high fade resistance and is rotor friendly with 100% non-corrosive dust. XP8 is perfect for novice, intermediate and advanced track day (HPDE) use with any tire, and can still be driven safely to and from the track. Many people use the XP8 on the street or at autocross and track day (HPDE) events. Carbotech does NOT recommended XP8 as a daily driven street pad due to elevated levels of dust and noise. This brake pad compound is available for C5 and C6 Corvettes.

Upgrade your C4, C5, or C6 Corvette cooling system with a Direct Fit Aluminum Radiator:
With a 100% stock 1984-2009 Corvette the factory radiator will work efficient enough to keep the car running cool. As soon as you begin modifying your Corvette you are going to push the factory radiator beyond its limits. The reason for radiator failures in modified Corvettes is a result of the single row core design. The end tanks were made of plastic and held in place with small crimp tabs and a neoprene rubber gasket was used to seal the tanks to the core. Frequent end tank failures and gasket leaks are just a few of the common problems associated with factory radiators installed in modified Corvettes. For complete assurance that your next radiator will not fail consider a Direct Fit Aluminum Radiator. They feature press formed end tanks that are tig welded directly to the double row core, providing a permanent seal.

Stock Single Row vs. Direct Fit Double Row Radiator
At Zip Corvette we offer the best Direct Fit Radiators on the market for C4, C5, & C6 Corvettes. Our Corvette Direct Fit Aluminum Radiators are just what the name implies; a direct fit. Many companies offer replacement Corvette radiators that are considered “direct fit” but in fact most require some alterations. True Direct Fit radiators are designed to install into the stock mounting and use the factory connections without any modifications or adapters. Each Direct Fit Radiator starts with a USA made core that is furnace brazed in a force nitrogen furnace. They feature two rows of 1″ cooling tubes (which will help double the cooling capacity of stock radiators), a serpentine fin, and are epoxy free. Each Direct Fit tank is manually tig welded by expert craftsmen, providing the ultimate in strength and appearance.

Another new Corvette part at Zip. This one for the C6 Z06 owner:
This new Powr-Flow Mass Air Sensor is now available from Zip Corvette Parts for 2006-2007 C6 Z06 Corvettes. This Jet Performance Products’ mass air flow sensor is an excellent upgrade for your Corvette’s Z06 engine. Unlike the factory Corvette air flow sensor which is a major restrictive point in both stock intake systems and aftermarket cold air intake systems, this Powr-Flow Mass Air Sensor generates greater horsepower, torque, and gas mileage for your Z06 Corvette. On top of providing instant performance boosts for your Z06 Corvette the Jet Powr-Flow Mass Air Sensor installs virtually hassle free in about 10 minutes.

Jet’s mass air flow sensor is an excellent upgrade for 2006-2007 Z06 Corvettes. Combine this sensor with a Callaway Honker or Vortex Rammer cold air induction system and your Z06 Corvette will be flowing cool air at a maximum. Any enthusiast worth their crossed flags knows the Corvette has a long and storied connection with the letter “Z” – beginning, of course, with the godfather himself: Zora Arkus Duntov. Mere mention of the near-mystical name “Zora” conjures up thoughts of reverence and dogged determination, followed by a quick-on-the-heels nod to the milestone ‘63 and attendant “big tank” Z06 coupes. For sure today’s supercharged (and hyphen-less) ZR1 is certifiably awesome, but we would be remiss to not pay due homage to its namesake predecessor, the then-revolutionary, quad cams ZR-1 of C4 fame – a car that made the performance world bow its head in respect. And let us not forget the roots of the beast, the full-on ZR1 track option of 1970, a wolf in, well, wolf’s clothing! Or the truly outrageous ZL1 all-aluminum wonder … the ZR2 big-block … the return of the Z06 aura as a badged C5 … the to-the-limit C6 Z06. Or Zip Products.
Born in 1977 out of a home garage endeavor, Zip Products has evolved into one of the industry’s leading purveyors of parts, performance and Corvette passion.
