After getting my Corvette 5 years ago, my first Corvette accessory was the CAGS by-pass. When I searched this item on the internet Zip Corvette came up first. I bought the CAGS Disconnect, Zip delivered well, and the part went on and worked just as claimed. Soon after, I subscribed to Corvette Magazine, and the catalogs started coming! All except yours. I often pour over Corvette Parts Catalogs while watching a ball game. I keep the most recent of each parts house catalog so when something needs fixing, I get a quick fix on the best prices.
Although it has been a long time in coming, I think your C5 catalog is the best I’ve seen. Everything from cheap key fobs to $5,000 superchargers! The lay out is very attractive, and it shows some interesting decorating ideas I’ve never thought of, or seen in the other Corvette Parts Catalogs. An example: Red plain carpet mats in a black interior – really brightens it up, it’s easy, and inexpensive to do!
I’d like to recommend an inexpensive but very much needed retro fit repair part for C-5′s with a targa top, and probably convertibles too. The latch strikers at the top of the windshield rattle badly after time. I’ve determined that the only thing that seems to cure this is to wrap black electric tape around the conical black nylon “male” pieces on the upper latches. This puts sufficient tightness in the closed latch as to really stop the clatter of the top when the Corvette goes over stiff bumps. Perhaps you could design a pop on rubber or vinyl cover for these two latch strikers that would do the job even better than my crude, but effective, electric tape.
Adjusting the hight and angle of the latches around on my 2000 Corvette with 62,000 miles just wouldn’t fix the rattle any more, and believe me, it was the worst rattle you could imamgine!
